Ukulele Book 1 - It's Time to Play

IT’S TIME TO PLAY the Ukulele is part of the It’s Time to Play series for band, strings, recorder, and ukulele. Designed to complement elementary general music instruction, it engages every student in meaningful music-making from the very beginning. Students sing, strum chords, pluck melodies, improvise, and create using a diverse repertoire of folk songs from around the world. Notation is introduced gradually so students learn to read music while connecting sound and symbol. Grounded in a sound-before-sight approach, the curriculum supports musical understanding, creativity, and continued participation in music.
